ESA R&D initiatieven

Door ESA zijn een aantal R&D initiatieven opgestart. Deze initiatieven hebben verschillende doeleinden en verdien modellen. Zo bieden “openEO” en “Eurodata Cube” gebruikers op 1 plaats toegang tot meerdere databibliotheken en de mogelijkheid deze data in de cloud te analyseren en bewerken. De“Sentinel Hub” biedt gebruikers een cloud omgeving aan om zelf data te analyseren, maar biedt ook gestandaardiseerde producten aan.

Sinds 2017 heeft ESA ook “Thematic Exploitation Platforms” (TEP’s) opgezet. Tegenwoordig zijn dit betaalde platforms die gebruikers de mogelijkheid bieden data te bekijken, downloaden, en analyseren.
