Copernicus Services

Het Copernicus programma is het operationele aardobservatie-programma van Europa. De basis van Copernicus bestaat uit de Sentinel satellieten. In de Copernicus services worden de Sentinel data, in-situ observaties en modeldata gecombineerd tot informatieproducten t.b.v. gebruik van primair Europese en nationale overheden. Deze datasets worden publiek gemaakt via 6 services: “Atmosphere”, “Marine”, “Land”, “Climate Change”, “Security” and “Emergency”.

Deze services bieden de geanalyseerde data gratis aan. Gebruikers kunnen de data vrij downloaden via de platforms. Het security platform is echter alleen toegankelijk voor bevoegde overheidsinstanties. De platforms bieden diverse services aan. Zo kun je op de climate change service de data niet alleen downloaden maar ook bekijken en bewerken. Er bestaan ook portalen voor sub-services zoals de European Ground Motion Service (EGMS) als onderdeel van de Land Service
