Orange Corners

Orange Corners (OC) [1] is an initiative of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Netherlands that provides young entrepreneurs across Africa and the Middle East with training, mentorship, network, funding and facilities to start and grow their businesses [2]. OC supports innovative solutions to local Challenges, that contribute to the UN Sustainable Development Goals. OC partner with various stakeholders to support and strengthen the entrepreneurial ecosystem.

Orange Corners supports young entrepreneurs with growing their businesses through incubation and acceleration programmes. Furthermore, OC also runs several programmes that are focused on strengthening the entrepreneurial ecosystem, involving education, policy making and skills building. Orange Corners already has local hubs in 15 countries. In addition to Orange Corners, the Orange Corners Innovation Fund (OCIF) [3] has been created to provide fund managers with capital to invest in early-stage start-ups.

Within Orange Corners, there is room to develop and market innovative digital products (possibly based on use of satellite data). For example, in Nigeria, the Orange Corners has supported the development of Winich Farms, which is a leading agro-tech platform educating and connecting over 7.000 local farmers to supermarkets [4].
