Many different R&D initiatives have been launched byESA. Each of these initiatives has a different purpose and/or revenue model. For example, “openEO” and “Eurodata Cube” offer users access to multiple data libraries in one place and the possibility to analyze and process this data in the cloud. The “Sentinel Hub” offers users a cloud environment to analyze data themselves, but also standardized products.
ESA has also set up “Thematic Exploitation Platforms” (TEPs) in 2016/2017. Today, these are paid platforms that allow users to view, download, and analyze data.
