Mission X is a project for primary schools and is an initiative of NASA in collaboration with various space agencies throughout the world. Twenty-five countries are participating in the project, including the United States, Japan, Russia, Indonesia, South Africa, Germany, France and the Netherlands.
In the Netherlands, Mission X is organised on behalf of NSO. The participating schools earn points by completing training modules. The pupils learn a lot about coordination, spatial aptitude, endurance and strength, but also about spaceflight in general. The importance of a healthy diet is also discussed in the class.
