In its deeds of establishment, NSO has a clearly described communication task that covers three objectives:
1. Creating and maintaining support for the space policy of the Dutch government
To this end, NSO maintains contacts with the media and organises a major contribution by Dutch space to the ESTEC Open Day during the Weekend of Science held each year in October.
2. Encouraging the use of space technology and satellite data
Communication efforts focus on profiling the advantages of using space technology and satellite data both within and outside the government.
3. International profiling of the Dutch space sector to promote trade
Together with the Dutch space sector, NSO wrote the NL Space profiling plan and developed the NL Space branding. The aim of this is to profile the Netherlands under a single overarching brand as a space sector country where innovative solutions are developed for global challenges.
